Daughter advises her radiator is leaking on my old 2009 D4D Auris, bought a new one for her, does anyone know if you can fit it without taking the front end off. I'm hoping there's enough space between the block & the slam panel but wondered if anyone knew?

Not much help but isn’t it a case of suck and see ? Sometimes dealer work books say big strip downs to get at certain areas of parts is necessary. Mate had a Mitsubishi 3000 GTO and was quoted a massive figure for a service as the dealer said the engine had to come out to change the spark plugs. It took some fiddling about and a Saturday morning but we changed them without resorting to taking said engine out. Just a thought 👍👍👍

Getting the bumper off is dead easy. Pour really hot water over the joint between it and the wing before you unclip it or warm it with a hair dryer. Just saves breaking the clips.
How do I attach a file?

For non mobile:
Don't use the quick reply box, below. Click the green box below, right with "reply" in it, instead.
When the "full" reply panel appears, there should be an "Add attachment" box on the top right.
Click "add files" in the resulting pop-up & take it from there.

Don do you have a PDF that shows how I remove the steering wheel on my car please ? It’s the same as the 4.3 which I’ll have somewhere but I wouldn’t be surprised if that very nice young Mr Schiccum doesn’t have exactly the right 4.4 version?

Thanks for that, looking yesterday I 'think' it may come out without, but when I opened the box to check they'd sent me the right radiator I was even more surprised to find an Aircon condenser!

Don do you have a PDF that shows how I remove the steering wheel on my car please ? It’s the same as the 4.3 which I’ll have somewhere but I wouldn’t be surprised if that very nice young Mr Schiccum doesn’t have exactly the right 4.4 version? I don't have the 4.4 info @ the moment, but 4.3 pdf is attached here:
My 4.4 would appear to be "pin type" fixings (not torx), as referred to in the 4.3 pdf.
Possibly the clip/torx position on 4.4 is slightly different. 4.4 clip/torx position doesn't appear to be almost symmetrical either side, as the 4.3 pdf implies. (With the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, looking @ the wheel from the drivers seat).
My 4.4 appears to have one torx/pin position directly underneath and one to the left (with the wheel in the straight ahead position, looking @ the wheel from the drivers seat).
Bear in mind Charles, my 4.4 is the facelift model, unlike yours, so fixing location may differ. steering2 by shcm, on Flickr

Should the title of this thread be changed now to "how to change a steering wheel on a Rav 4.3" as it might be useful for other searches?
