Noticed this range of waxes, detailers, etc in Halfords today. Has anyone tried any of this stuff? It reads impressive but the proof is in the usage......

Is it especially formulated for Hybrid cars? I do think that car treatments are emulating cosmetics when it comes to marketing. Sales slowing? Hey, come up with a fancy new name and rehash what you have been selling for years. Is it any good? Dunno but sure as eggs is eggs, it will be eclipsed by the next wonder treatment.

Reason I ask is because it reminds me of the Polymer stuff that was all the rage back in the 80s. Lots were crap but I seem to remember that there were a couple of brands that were pretty good.

The way I look at all the 'wonder' treatments is, if they were as good as they claim, the sellers would soon go out of business as there would be no need to apply further coats.

I get tired of explaining to people on a few car forums that Ceramics and or whatever bow larks the sellers keep churning out and punting in many different guises are the same old stuff with fancy new labels and even fancier claims. It’s different here on this forum because it’s a tighter group of sensible people so I don’t constantly get taken to task when I advise that the best LSP is also one of the cheapest and longest lasting...... 👍👍👍👍

I don't believe that it's a permanent coating (like Superguard) but I was interested to know how it compared with stuff like Maguires or Autoglym. As it's Turtle Wax I assumed it would have some credibility and maybe some of the good folks on here may have used it. 🤔

As it's Turtle Wax I assumed it would have some credibility and maybe some of the good folks on here may have used it. 🤔 Supergaurd despite the claims has never left a permanent coating..... A friends brother used to work as a valeter at a major main road dealers in Worcester. They promoted that brand of coating at around 250 to 300 quid. Fella used to sell us the sponge kits for 5 nicker a pop. You got a sponge with a sort of pouch on the back. After washing the car you punctured the pouch so the waxy stuff went over the car. It took the valeters less than an hour to wash and apply the product, It was widely regarded as rubbish. The term “Ceramic” which is bandied around places like FB are claimed to be new. I have a bottle of Zaino Z8 in the garage which is ceramic and I’ve had it 15 years or more. It’s cracking stuff it really is but it’s durability is not great which is why it’s still 80% full. 👍
