Discussion Prompted from Ainsleys For Sale Thread for his lovely Sprinter based Motorhome. (Posts below moved to this new thread to keep the For Sale thread on piste)
Sounds very nice 2 things ... 1) Upgraded Payload.. So I am guessing >3.5t? (espcially with the specification given!!) 2) Photos .. If you use the "Upload Image tio IMGbb" option that will support any size file I think (but you cannot remove later as it is an anonymous upload)

Yes, the basic 3850 kg has been upgraded to 4200 kg, so it needs the C! licence that old fellers like me still have!! The new one coming is 7490 kg!!!! I will have a go at those photo's but don't hold out too much hope!! Incidentally, it is also an A class which I don't think I mentioned.
Wow, first photo's added, some interior ones to follow. That was easy. Now how do I reduce size for the Avatar, or can the old site one be transferred?

Very Nice! Bigger?? Does the fact it is so heavy poses a problem on European sites? There are limitations on Caravans.

She is based on a LWB Mercedes Sprinter, with a 3 ltr auto, which returns around 23-24 mpg, better with a tail wind! I meant the new 7.5t machine you have ordered. At that weight, I assume it must be based on a Truck chassis like a Mercedes Atego rather then a Sprinter?

Ah, the new one is based on an Iveco 7.0 chassis, with the weight upgraded to 7.49 tonnes, presumably to be under 7.5 for licensing reasons. there is no problem on European sites. Where the problems with bigger vans occur is with the tag axel chassis, ie one wheel in front of the other. Some sites, I understand, won't allow them as the turning circle can chew up the ground.

Yup, we are limited to 7.5t on the C1 license. Those enormous American Class A coaches weigh something like 20t and seems no special license at all needed as not a commercial vehicle. Mad!

I would like to try one (class A coaches, 20t...). Not here. In the US. Just once for the experience
