I recently bought a tin of contact adhesive, left it on the back seat, where it "exploded" in the sun, and made a BAD mess. So, is there anything that removes dried on contact adhesive? I tried acetone with no luck. Bit of a b----r really.

Is it on a leather or fabric surface?

Thanks Chris,
It is on fabric seats. One of the rear removable ones, so if it can't be cleaned, I will have to try and find one in the scrap yard!

I know this is a little late from your point of view, but I have a very strong cardboard box that fits between the rear seats and the back of the central armrest and is supported at the sides by the front seats. I've never had an accident like the one that bit you, but anything that could cause trouble travels in the cardboard box. It's so useful that it stays in the car most of the time.

Too true, and wise after the fact. Normally we carry stuff in the boot, but on this occasion, I forgot to take the blighter out. It is very warm here in Spain at the moment (lovely) but the heat must have built up the pressure until it blew. Off to ebay to see if there are any used ones available!

This is certainly worth a try, and many thanks. As of today, we are in total lockdown here in Spain. We have a ferry booked on April 5th from Dieppe, but France has also closed its borders, and I am not sure if we can get our motorhome out of storage to leave anyway. On a slightly positive side, fuel is down to under a € a litre, and our house is fairly remote part of the country, so the bug will find it hard to get to us! I guess it's time to get on with those jobs I have been putting off for a rare rainy day, and that includes a DEEP clean of the RAV which is currently covered in dust!!

Good luck Ainsley, it's lookings as though a lot of forum members in the UK will be in isolation before long. There could be some REALLY smart Rav's at the end of this!
