I had trouble logging into the forum after the forum software was changed, so I've been away for a while. Re-registered under my old user name, so some of you might remember. I'm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and drive a 2008 V6 RAV4 Limited. She's about to turn 11 years old, has over 65K miles and still runs like the proverbial top. Last year, I got a new toy, it's a 2015 Chevrolet Volt with 31K miles, which was sold in the UK as a Vauxhall Ampera. It's a plug-in hybrid and gets about 42 miles on electric, which is perfect for me. On most days, the electric range is more than adequate and I rarely need to run the petrol generator. I fueled up the tank in January and finally had to add 3 gallons last month after a trip to New Orleans. It's a great vehicle so far. Anyway, it's great to be back!

Why didn't we get a Rav with that engine, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Hello  Trust me, you would not like the mileage with the auto. Now if we had the V6 with a nice 6-speed manual gearbox, that would have been fantastic! Unfortunately, manuals are going the way of the dinosaurs in N. America. |

Our 2007 has 127k on it & that's exactly the reason we still have it, I'd like an auto, but the thought of spending £6-10K & getting a lemon means ours is staying.
