I had trouble logging into the forum after the forum software was changed, so I've been away for a while. Re-registered under my old user name, so some of you might remember. I'm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and drive a 2008 V6 RAV4 Limited. She's about to turn 11 years old, has over 65K miles and still runs like the proverbial top. Last year, I got a new toy, it's a 2015 Chevrolet Volt with 31K miles, which was sold in the UK as a Vauxhall Ampera. It's a plug-in hybrid and gets about 42 miles on electric, which is perfect for me. On most days, the electric range is more than adequate and I rarely need to run the petrol generator. I fueled up the tank in January and finally had to add 3 gallons last month after a trip to New Orleans. It's a great vehicle so far. Anyway, it's great to be back!

We occassionally get visitors from your side of the pond looking for infomation and end up taking your name in vain! Glad to hear the RAV is still going well, my 2008 D-4D has 89k on it now and I can't find anything that I'd like better - so I'm sticking with it!

Why didn't we get a Rav with that engine, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Hello Trust me, you would not like the mileage with the auto. Now if we had the V6 with a nice 6-speed manual gearbox, that would have been fantastic! Unfortunately, manuals are going the way of the dinosaurs in N. America.

my 2008 D-4D has 89k on it now and I can't find anything that I'd like better - so I'm sticking with it! Our 2007 has 127k on it & that's exactly the reason we still have it, I'd like an auto, but the thought of spending £6-10K & getting a lemon means ours is staying.

Welcome back to the fold James. It seems like forever since I was able to look over the V6 RAV and we had lunch. I’ve still got photos somewhere.
