We noticed a few weeks ago when pulling into Morrisons car park a strange sort of squeaky grinding noise from what sounded like the front brakes. This was while the wheels were turned and braking from slow to a stop. We didn't think anything of it but it happened again yesterday and Mrs P said it happened again when she got to work this morning and only seems to happen when locking the wheels turning to the left. Mrs P said she felt nothing through the pedal, no vibration or knocking? Any ideas what it could be bearing in mind it has recently passed the MOT??

I would get it checked. With luck it could just be something simple like a stone but safety first..

Front brake backplates going same way as rears? Don't think so David as we replaced the O/S front with a new one, and the N/S was still ok :TU:

It doesn't happen all the time and the brakes seem fine stopping in a straight line at speed but this just happens as I say when pulling into a car park space when the steering is on full lock to the left??

We didn’t Paul it just disappeared on its own. It was booked in to be checked out so I never bothered taking it in.

OK thanks Ash we will see how it goes but it reminded me of when a car skids a little and you get that judder from the front but this is when moving slow and braking?

Ours does the same occasionally a bit of squeaking just at the point of stopping, the MOT lad has tried to find it the last two years to no avail.
