The Rav shown is a nice looking car, just out of interest I scrolled to the bottom of the screen to look at the finance.
Bearing in mind this car is already 3 years old with 60,000 miles on it.
Putting a £6000 deposit down which is the most I would have ever paid for a car apart from one, there would then be 37 payments of £195.28 meaning I would have paid £13,225.36, then they would expect a final payment of £7,153.13 or I presumably would hand the car back.
Who would be that desperate to own a car?

What with the battery questions. What battery questions Charlie? If you have some information please expand. It's going back a few years now, but a "tame" Toyota service manager told be they'd only ever changed 2 traction batteries. Admittedly Mr T has produced far more hybrids since then, so even with world class, low ppm defect, manufacturing techniques, by the law of averages, there will be a few more failures. There's something like 8 years warranty on a traction battery and separately I was told, so long as there is a record of a "Hybrid Health Check" ever year, Toyota generally will honour the warranty beyond that. That would be some of the paperwork to check, before buying a used one. Of course, all dealer staff play the "talk up the product" game to some extent, so take the above, with how ever many pinches of salt you want. Do you have something else? I have a 4WD model. I like it loads. It's not totally perfect, but nothing is. I assume Dave.m (and maybe others) still has his? As above, yes, I think Business edition would be 2WD. I'd need to have a think about 60K miles, but you'll also be dictated by budget. I was being a bit generic there I think .... To be fair I’m not up to speed on these batteries but batteries don’t last forever ? The lithium batteries we use in power tools ( Which are likely different) last not on age but on how many charges they have had... I have a Milwaukee battery “status” reader which among other things informs the user of how many times the battery clipped to it has endured. I imagine the same same applies to these EC batteries as they are lithium based ? Probaly wrong but if the above applies then a car with 60K miles has had its battery used far more than a low miles car ??

I know we all have different views on how we buy our cars but in this case the old saying “ Fools and their money are easily parted” That said we live in a world where many look simply at the monthly payment amount and little else.In a way I understand that but could never participate in that way of buying a vehicle.

Well.... It was inevitable.
Put a deposit on a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse cross 4wd. 600 miles, blue - auto , ex demo.
1.5 petrol turbo, 4 years 8 months g/tee left. First 3 services included , Rac cover for 3 years. Spare wheel included, interior protector included. Paint protect included.
£21k It's been a whirlwind today... but I'm far more relaxed.
Sad it wasn't a Rav4, but I needed a 4wd and a more suitable vehicle for my lifestyle.
Mitshubishi have a strong following in 4wd so hope it will be a good car.

Good choice, Jamie. Mitsubishis are robust and very reliable. You won't be disappointed . Just a pity that they've joined the Nissan-Renault alliance. Another good Japanese brand infected with Regie's DNA . At least the current models will be OK. When do you get it?

Happy new car Jamie, if you had decided that you could have lived with a FWD Hybrid Rav you could have had mine with 25K miles on the clock. I traded it in this week for a BMW X2 X drive 2.0 turbo petrol Sport. I did want to stick with Hybrid as the Rav was the best I have ever owned. Here's the rub, I tried very very very hard to like the new shape Rav but just could not live with the fugliness of it. Also I do not need a large car, BMW are doing a lot of good deals at the moment
