Nipped out earlier today & just before I got to our road the warning light came on with "Oil maintenance required now" there is plenty of oil in, in the image it's a bit over but it is on a slope. Only had it serviced last month, could it be they have not reset the counter or am I grabbing at straws & it's something more serioius?

That is only the warning - it measure distance and needs a reset. You can do it yourself - the manual should have a small chapter explaining how to do that.

Just tried that set oil & filter at 10k in Sat Nav but still same Should be a sequence to do on the main instruments, not sat nav. It is along the lines (if you have a key) of holding the speedometer reset pressed, and than put ignition on, and keep pressing , it will than count down to reset. Do not remember exactly. Different if it is keyless.

Different if it is keyless. Yep keyless system, I have even turned off the alerts but it's still coming up, So disconnected battery for 5 minutes & that has now appeared to have stopped it.

By different, I meant not that different.... I am guessing it is the same for mine (4.4) as these things do not change a lot: From the manual: Switch the display to the trip meter and turn the engine switch off While pressing the odometer/trim meter display change button, turn the switch to 'Ignition On ' mode (do not start the engine!) Continue to press and hold button until the trip meter displays "000000" Disconnecting the battery will not cure - it will come back Hope this helps

This is for Avensis. Likelty same for RAV?
Turn the ignition switch to the “On” position, but do not start the engine If your car has START push-button , press the “Start” without touching the brake pedal. Hit the odometer button until you see “ODO” Next, turn the ignition “off” Press and hold the Trip Odometer Reset button, and turn the ignition switch to the “On” position If your car has START push-button , press the “Start” twice without touching the brake pedal. Continue to hold down the Trip Odometer Reset button until “000000” MILES appears on the display and the maintenance light turns off.

I had this problem on my 4.3. I got the following info from Anchorman ( or it might have been SCHM ):
RESETTING THE OIL MAINTENANCE WARNING LIGHT – RAV 4.3
Set the multi-information display to TRIP A.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Press and hold the ODO / TRIP switch, and turn the ignition switch on (IG).
After turning the ignition switch on (IG), keep holding the switch for at least 5 seconds.

If the various contributors to this thread could post what they did for their specfic vehcile to reset the warning, and the exact model and year of the vehicle, I will create a sticky for future reference in the "Tips and How To Guide" Sub-board
