In visiting cuz in Hull, on a short trip to shop 60 yards away (don't walk much nowadays lol) drove her Aygo... starting off from parking lot means a left full lock and it squeals like a belt slipping. Everything ok after. In trying to search for answers on another forum couldnt find info other than a 2008 car. Are these cars electric powered steering? And why might it squeal just on left lock? Any ideas? She is driving to Dunkirk at the end of this week and beginning to panic. I of course reassured her that it would be fine as long as she keeps to right turns, and does wheelies in car parks....

The later 2014-2017 also has electric power steering so the squeak can only be alternator belt I’m thinking 🤔

Might be worth her getting the tracking checked to see if it's out & putting more strain on the system when turning left, does it squeal at standstill or once she starts to move, might be worth checking tyre pressures as well.

Good point.... I'll ask her to check tyre pressures... it seems to squeal when starting off from home parking place which entails a full left lock turn. I kinda wondered if the steering system was maybe trying to over-extend. (Only as I had a JCB telehandler that did the same lol)
