Rav 4.2.2 brake issues Apr 12, 2019 21:07:10 GMT

I have an issue with my brakes which I cannot seem to get to the bottom of, there are three symptoms, which may or may not be related.
Occasional granchy sound from front (possibly rhs) when stopping from a slow speed, I initially thought that it was a disk pad that had worn unevenly and was rubbing on the disk, I have now taken the front brakes apart on two separate occasions and found no problem.
The next one is harder to describe, again it only happens occasionally (maybe once a week) I think it is the ABS triggering prematurely, but it is not the rapid hammer type sound that I usually expect from ABS being activated, the only way I can describe it is like someone is plucking a spring, you get a sort of boing boing boing sound, probably 2-3/second, if you release the brake and brake again it is fine.
I recently spoke to a mechanic who replaced the front shocks for me , and he put it down to the shocks being knackered causing the ABS to be triggered if the road is a bit uneven, but it has done it a couple of times since then.
Squeaky brakes when reversing after car has been parked over night. I recently took the rear disk/drum combo off on both sides and cleaned them and readjusted the handbrake this did not solve the problem.
I replaced all the disks, pads and shims about a year ago and they are all in good condition, it has also just passed its CT (french mot) without any mechanical issues.
The car brakes in a straight line without any problem, even when I get the boing sound, as I said I have taken the brakes apart on several occasions and been unable to locate any problem.
All suggestions welcome
