First colour of the year in our garden . We have two camellia‘s shrubs in the garden red and pink....red one always comes out first . This year we decided to keep the leaves on the flowerbeds for frost protection....these little snowdrops seem to have appreciated it 😎

I can do snowdrops:
Quite a lot of snowdrops ...
But I can't take much credit for them - it's kinda 'wild' at the bottom of the garden! In practice they are rather past their best but it's been too wet to get down there until today ...

That’s impressive a woodland at the bottom of your garden 😎

I'm surprised the stream bed is dry bearing in mind the amount of precipitation we have had recently.

I'm surprised the stream bed is dry bearing in mind the amount of precipitation we have had recently. Now you mention it, I am too ... I wonder where the water has gone? Describing it as 'woodland' is generous - it's a small ravine, carved out by a seasonal stream that contains the run-off from the local hills. When we have heavy rain, the sound of the water is 'deafening'. While it makes an interesting 'adventure playground' for 'kids' it's rather less accessible to grown-ups - the sides are too steep. When we first moved here in 2004 I had visions of creating a "woodland walk" - cutting a path along one side, adding a bridge to cross the stream at the bottom and then cutting a return path back up the other side. Back then I had the energy but not the time; now I have the time but not the energy! We did get the path down to the bottom and built the bridge but Mother Nature has rather taken over again ...
On the positive side, I should have a bank of primroses to share in a couple of weeks; and bluebells by May ...

I suspect even Indiana Jones might think twice about crossing that bridge
