Failed to get my windscreen cleaned inside the car despite using various glass cleaners which seem no more than water with something added to ensure they dry streaky. (No offence if anyone here is called streaky) I use microfibre cloths - using different ones makes no difference. I even went to Specsavers to get my eyes tested but its not catarachs! Any suggestions? Thanks

Autosmarts glass polish. It’s a light paste/liquid which you apply with a cloth then polish off. Not the easiest to use but long lasting effective and smear free. 👍

Boffs......ten minutes drive from you, just past Sterling Furniture on London Road is Hurry Bros Glass Merchants. They bring in aerosol glass cleaner from That Germany and it borders on the sexual. Big tin at a fiver a whip and it is superb. Don has stolen some oot ma garage and waxed lyrical aboot it. Wee Tip.......always use that hard linen type clorh yer old tea towels were made of to clean gless........that Irish material, Michael Fibre, far too soft and polite to properly clean gless.

Original Windolene cream? The pink stuff that dries white ... sounds similar to Autosmart's Glass Glow as suggested by Charlie above.

Thanks all. Bought 2 hairysols yesterday whilst de-touring aff the M74 to get to Hurry Bros. Just woken up at 11am this morning after sniffing one can..... glass still all smeared so will avoid sniffing 2nd can and apply to windies....with linen cloth. report later whenever I wake up..... (must've fallen asleep after sniffing can but before any application)

well...its not raining here so ventured outside with hairysol and linen dishcloth. Inside windscreen done and looks much better. Course, there's no sunlight to see if the streaks have gone but will check it as soon as. Did the rear windie too. and the mirrors. Got carried away / over-excited and did the outside of the windscreen....removing all the crud, I can now see a stone chip mark.....so new windscreen might be required....might try returning hairysol to Hurry Bros to ask for refund as it didn't remove the mark on the windie.

My window cleaner called the other day and I asked him about cleaning cloths as he makes a splendid job. Apparently the cloths that he uses are what is sold as Window Cleaners Scrim. As you say, it's linen based but it's a bit more open weave than a teatowel. Found some here:
will report back when I do the car but the polish that SHCM recommends combined with this cloth make a cracking job of my patio doors!
