Hi Jamie, when you change the oil and filter on my 4.3 it takes the oil pressure light about 3 or 4 second to go out when you start the engine so I guess that is a pretty reasonable approximation of how long it takes the oil to get everywhere. It shouldn't be a major worry with a modern oil as they tend to leave a thin but effective film around the engine when you drain the oil. This is sufficient to protect the engine while the filter refills and working oil pressure builds up. If your oil light remains on for more than about , say, 10 seconds on start-up it would be worth investigating. Is the engine using any oil? HTH

Uses just a little, I reckon I put in half a cup every 8 weeks or so. Depending what driving I'm doing. But I check it every weekend, just for good practice. Always keep it on max. And always keep a ltr in the boot. I've got no trouble, was just a totally random and curious curiosity 😊 Cheers 👍 I

Hi Jamie, I've lost track of which version of the RAV you have now. Do an old gimmer a favour and fill in your profile as it makes commenting on specific issues much easier for everyone

Quite a bit of oil remains up in the engine in oil galleries etc So all the moving parts get oil very quickly.
