Hi to all,
I have my second golden oldie Rav4 but I'm experiencing repeated breakdowns and my garage can't find a cause. She's a 2005 Rav4 Xt-r D-4d.
She started being a bit stuttery then on a long journey we went into limp mode. Dealership said it was a PO340 code they reset it and she was fine albeit still with the stutter but we took it easy.
We came home and changed the SCVs and cleaned the MAF sensors. She was fine and rarely stuttered.
Few months later she started stuttering then I completley lost everything electronically and stalled. I was recovered and had the camshaft sensor changed (non-dealership garage).
The following day she stuttered twice on a long journey, then again I lost everything and stalled. Same code keeps coming up.
We took her to the garage yesterday and they couldn't find anything wrong which is so frustrating.
Today, in the hot weather she stuttered and we broke down after only 15 mins, let her cool. Down and we got home.
I put her on the diagnostic machine yesterday morning and the RPMs are normal indicating the sensor put in was fine but I'm a bit concerned as to the Load_Pct figure which was fluctuating between 95% to 100%? I sat with the engine running for 20 minutes and the reading went between those figures when I turned the aircon on/off.
Please can someone share their live readings so I can compare and try to get closer to finding out what's wrong with her.
TLDR version, PO340 code read, sensor changed, problem ongoing. LOAD_PCT reading 100% when engine static and running. Help!
