Good work Bob !! How did you break the tyre beads ? That was a tricky one but I gave it some thought, and came up with this ! Two lengths of studding through the bolt holes, two big screws into the wood to stop the Jack slipping and a fat cable tie to stop jack falling on my feet when tyre popped 😉 Absolutely no damage done to wheel rim, biggest problem was getting tyre pushed down to release TPMS.

Tyre is still in its same position so not needed(only popped front bead) …..tested it at 50 mph without drama👍🏻

Here is the TPMS system I have, no need to remove wheel and tyre to change a battery. The small unit on which all 4 pressures are displayed That’s TyrePal Jeff ?? … It’s aftermarket unlike Bobs which was factory fitted. I’m thinking of getting the TyrePal ones you have Jeff for the caravan, If I buy a set of 4 for a car I’m thinking I can put two on the caravan and the other two on my trailer….. Both the caravan and the trailer have spare wheels unlike our cars that don’t ….. How do you find it ? Does it stay connected ?

Hi Charlie, well I don't want to tempt fate but since I bought the system in mid 2015 I have only changed the small batteries. It has never dropped out so the range is fine for a car, however I have no idea if there is sufficient range from a caravan to the small unit but Tyre Pal should know. They wouldn't send it to me in NZ so I had to be sneaky and get it sent to an address in the U.K. and they reposted it to me. I haven't looked at their website for a long time so I don't know what changes / improvements they have made since 2015. I hope I haven't put a jinx on it now

Charlie, I fitted a TyrePal system to my 4.3 and it behaved faultlessly. The batteries seem to last about 7 years ( at least mine did! ) From memory, the company are based somewhere near Tamworth and were brilliant on the phone.

Been after another Lexus SC430 since last year and have been hunting one down ever since, hard to justify the expense..but then you only live once ! It’s a mid 2007 with 59k on the clock, some history. Needs some work but I’m happy to get involved 👍🏻 Still keeping the RAV4…wife has snatched the keys from me 😉 See that line “ you only live once “ that’s very true Bob and there ain’t no pockets in a shroud. Heaith to enjoy your new car mate it’s a cracker 👍👍
