I have loved motorcycles virtually all my life and when I was much younger I was involved with the racing side.
I gave up riding on the road though because my luck appeared to be getting less and less. I felt someone or something was suggesting I gave up. Marc Marquez is a fantastic rider and I bet he won't retire even after his latest crash below and the fact that again he has Diplopia. MotoGP riders are a lot different to us mere mortals.

Up at 04.00 the other Sunday to spectate on the box, had to give up our Kawasaki ZZR 1400 due to not being able to get my leg over ( the saddle that is ) really miss the buzz I used to get but at 73 I've had a good innings, was hoping to get a lower model but could not imagine riding with less power. Regards battleaxe1 AKA Geordie.

Regards battleaxe1 AKA Geordie. I had two ZZR1400s. I had a blue one when they first came out then chopped it in for a black one a year later… i fitted a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust and a power commander the took the bike to John Trigger to have it set up on the dyno. They also removed the throttle restrictions that prevented the throttle slides from opening fully in the first two gears. It was restricted in that way to calm the power in gears 1and2…. Bike was then producing 185BHP at the rear wheel. It was a missile but a bit of a handful round the corners as all of those big sports tourers are. I keep looking at the post 2015 Norton Commando but the power is a bit low at 80 BHP. I’ve never owned a bike with that low a power output ( Aside from the off roaders which don’t really count) 👍👍👍
