Hi Has anyone got experience with these, we bought one to put on the window of our new greenhouse, and it says to remove the automatic plunger bit at the end of the summer to avoid damage, but does anyone have any idea what sort of temperature they can go down to, it doesn't say in the instructions.
Even at this time of year if it is a bright sunny day it can get pretty hot in the greenhouse even if it gets cold at night, not that we have anything much in there at the moment, but soon we will be starting to plant and would like the window to automatically open when it is a hot day, but concerned that the plunger might get damaged at night.

My experience is limited, but there's a couple on our greenhouse. They were on when we bought the property (4 years+) and I've never thought to mess with them (winter or summer) or even look at them properly. They just work (which means now I've said that, they will fail!). (In fact when we first got the property, I wondered for a few seconds, who the heck had opened the windows on a locked greenhouse, until the cogs went around and the penny dropped.) I'd say they will have survived to probably at least -5C to my knowledge, but of course it may drop colder in your location. Then again, possibly depends on make. This one (link below) for example, says it can stay on windows all year round (paragraph 2, page 2). www.baylissautovents.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Fixing-Setting-autovent-MkVII.pdf

We have one on the roof of our greenhouse. They are adjustable but you’ll need to play about with it to get it set up how you want it. I just fitted it and left it to its own devices. Our one is temperamental but it works ok so we don’t mess with it … Our greenhouse is only a small one but it gets a lot of use 👍

It’s been quite some time since we bought our greenhouse around 14 years… During that time we’ve moved twice and have each time moved the greenhouse with us as buyers don’t want to pay anything for them. It was quite expensive when we bought it cos it was a good quaility one. I take the auto vent off each autumn.. Not because the unit might get damaged but so the wind cannot get under the roof vent and pull it off. Our glazing is full pane toughened glass so it’s fairly heavy much heavier than agricultural plain glass but wind can be brutal…. So I don’t think removal is to prevent damage to the opener more to protect the opening window. Trouble is because it’s so old now and we’ve moved twice I can’t find the paperwork…

I had one for about 15 years before I moved. Disconnected late autumn and reconnected at first sign of spring each year. It was still "in place" just disconnected.
