I think I heard that the last race of the season will be the 100th race in F1 in the current Hybrid regulations - and that should Lewis Hamilton will those two races he will have won 50% of all races in this era. That is pretty amazing stuff to have that win rate.
Chances are that the same two teams (Mercedes & Ferrari) will be battling it out next year, the final year of the current regs, so I would not be surprised to see him surpass that 1 in 2 race average. 2020 will be an interesting season I think.

“Sebastian Vettel’s bank account will be 25,000 Euros worse off on Saturday evening, after the German was handed a hefty fine for an unusual incident at the weighbridge during qualifying in Brazil.” 🙄🙄

good race. I missed the first 7 laps as I thought it started at 7PM, not 5PM Also found out too late it was on Sky 1 as well. This is the 3rd race they have had on the non-premium channel. I wonder it this is due to a lack of viewers buying sports subs for F1?

Yes I enjoyed the race and it certainly kept you on the edge of your seat, so close at the end too..

I wonder it this is due to a lack of viewers buying sports subs for F1? I had to stay up till past midnight to watch, but I think you could be right, Sky is so football focused they just assume all sports fan must be football fans & are happy to pay for all the football channels when they only want F1. They're deluded, they should offer a motorsport package, but I wonder if they only outbid the BBC on F1 as part of a willy waving contest & they're not really that interested in it.

I started watching the highlights on C4 last night - knowing the result because I'd alreday been Beeb'd again - but dozed off after the first few laps and went to bed meaning to watch on catch-up today. Just watched the highlights on the f1.com website - 7 minutes and 2 seconds in total! This may just be the way that I follow F1 from now on ... I'm not too sure when the ban on spoliers is lifted but ... {whats your view}on the incident between Verstappen and Occon? I can't help thinking that Occon was perfectly entitled to un-lap himself - which as far as I can see he did - and Verstappen then tried to lap him again, without the benefit of blue flags, didn't give Occon any room and actually it was Verstappen that caused the collision ...

Yep I think Verstappen should have been more cautious and picked a better place for the move but also have to agree with others comments that you shouldn't be tangling with the race leader when you're so far behind in the race..

In my view there is an element of pot-kettle-black here ( from Max ). The most telling comment from anyone came from LH ( paraphrased ) "he had nothing to loose and you need to take that into account when making the decision to fight him through that corner".

Ocon was faster than Max, what did Max gain by keeping a faster car behind him that wasn't racing him, but was trying to get the best out of the tyres so that he (Ocon) could perhaps catch and pass others up the road (I wasn't really paying attention to the race and relative positions at that point).
There probably was a better place for Ocon to do it, but who know how much deg he would have had on the tyres by then staying behind Max. I thought the penalty for Ocon was a little unfair, he was overtaking and Max knew he was there, he should have given space, not slam the door shut. Given the colour of the Force India he knew it wasn't Lewis trying a pass!

I was about to type that my take on the MV - EO clash is 50:50 but changed my mind as I was typing why I thought that.
Ocan, as has been said by others and in the rule book is perfectly entitled to unlap himself if he is faster. Vestappen has this sense of entitlement that everyone should jump out his way and not challenge him.
Lewis Hamilton got it spot on in the cooldown room and he reminded Max that Ocan was entitled to unlap himself AND that the leader has a lot more to loose when jousting with a driver in the bottom half of the pack. I think Max closed the door too late for Ocan to have anywhere to do and he in effect created the incident. so I'm calling it 70:30 against Max and the Stewards made the wrong call. Now they did take a while to make the decision and in fact Max Vestappens effective 'penalty' after the incident was a lot more severe than Ocans 10 second stop and go, so maybe that was taken into account? If he doesn't mature a lot quicker, he will never win a WDC with displays like that as you cannot afford to throw away valuable points like that. If that was a fight for the Championship and not just for a Race, he chucked away 14 points in a oner - that is like letting someone only need 3rd place to secure a WDC instead of a win. Nearly half of the WDCs since the points system was changed to 25 for a win, 18 for 2nd, etc. have been won by less than 14 points.
And Palmers 'Worst bit of F1 driving I think I've seen' ? Even if the blame was 100% Ocan, I have seen far worse driving in Formula 1 than that, I've got to say!

Maybe his judgement is why he is not driving any longer ( well, one of the reasons )

Vestappen has this sense of entitlement that everyone should jump out his way and not challenge him. I personally think this is so true, it's been apparent since he first started, he believes he has the right to do this, but nobody else can do it back to him, all he had to do was give Ocon a few more feet, he chose not to, just like in Japan he chose not to give Kimi room & forced him off the track. Part of his physi is to try to intimidate the other drivers, he's probably got a small penis!

Max and Ocon have previous history from the racing series before F1 so it was going to happen at some point or another ...Max we hope will learn from this and way up the risks, at the end of the day it was just one race win but could have been a disaster if it was for the world championship 😳😳
