Exited to report we have Robins frantically popping in and out of a nesting box in the top garden..... Taking in nesting material no doubt.
We’ve had them every year apart from last year when there was no sign of them. But they’re back !!! I wonder if it’s the same family ?

Robins nests in an open boxes.

When I made a blue tit box a few years back, it was made with the recommended 25mm hole...seems the birds want it bigger 😉

Maybe, but unfortunately, generally robins are supposed to only have a 2 to 3 year life span.
We've still got our pair of robins that we've sustained over the winter, but I think they've had sense to nest a little way away from the food source.
Got a couple of mallards hanging around the small pond we have. I just wish they'd clear up their own poop!

When I made a blue tit box a few years back, it was made with the recommended 25mm hole...seems the birds want it bigger 😉  You might want to saw that perch off Bob as it just helps bigger birds and Squirrels get inside easier to the eggs/chiks

They are here!!! Eight eggs, there seem to be seven chicks in tje nest and one that strayed out and will probably not make it.
