Will it affect your mpg 😉 When fitting be handy if you can tie the battery leads out the way as you’re going to be tight on space, and struggling with the weight 👍🏻👍🏻

Yes , i can remember when I fitted the current battery it was a struggle. Mind you I was younger then and I've just looked and according to the specs the Bosch battery is slightly heavier still.

Did you know the bonnet has two stay positions ? I only noticed by chance the other week ...might help with the space while lifting 👍🏻

Did you know the bonnet has two stay positions ? I only noticed by chance the other week ...might help with the space while lifting 👍🏻 Keep up Bob! Here's a related, but in this case, a completely useless fact. Did you know the later models (well, I've only ever seen it on a 4.4) have a little, easily removable plug, that sits in the unused stay position and can be swapped between the two positions? Not just a rubber bung, but a plastic part with a springy finger catch? I do wonder why, because on face value there doesn't seem much point, especially when it wasn't there before on earlier models and it's just adding cost (every single penny counts in automotive). I do like touches like that though.
Possibly it's just an aid related to assembly in the factory. e.g. maybe helps to ensure the stay goes into the correct position at various points down the assembly track.

No high tech removable plugs on the older models ...just multiple choice holes, keeps it simple that way 😉

Following this thread as my battery has gone flat, just charging it up now. The car hardly moves, so I'm not sure whether the battery is dead or I just need to drive it more often. It moves about 3 miles a week at night, so obviously it's using the lights.
I'm not keen about taking it to an auto spark for a battery check, as they will probably just say I need a new one, to get a sale. Is there any way I can check the battery myself? My battery charger only displays full, half and empty battery images to indicate capacity. Or should I just buy a Yuasa, like the OP as I don't know how old the battery is? Thanks for any advice.

You need to invest in a smart charger and keep it connected until you need the car , subject to you having mains power close by 👍🏻

No idea what model it is though. EDIT It's this one: www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/car-essentials/ctek-ct5-time-to-go-battery-charger-maintainer/p35323
