I had Talisker 10yr old and Dalwhinnie winters Gold which i haven't tried yet, but am getting more into the peaty/smoky ones Good for you....and remember, gargling with whiskies kills most germs dead. After all, we are all using alcohol to kill germs on our hands. Look out for the cask strength stuff....around 53%. If you gargle regularly with it, then swallow, it'll pickle the germs on the way down. Just drink more water as well. Well that's a good enuff excuse to drink more then Bothy :TU: We went to the Cotswolds distillery, beautiful place, just before it had to close due to Covid back in March, and is now open again, and did the whisky tasting tour. They are all young Whiskies at the moment but we bought the founders choice which was the one we both liked, yes Mrs P is partial to a drop of whisky, and that is 60.5%, lovely drop that is :TU:

I bought a bottle (amongst others) when my daughter treated me to a distillery tour at Dalwhinnie last year. Sheer nectar! 😊👍 That's good to hear Jim :TU: Do you put it in the freezer, as suggested, if so does it make that much difference to the taste?

I couldn't bring myself to put it in the freezer. I would probably forget about it and end up with a frozen, broken bottle of Scotch! 😢

Whisky won't freeze in your freezer. On the opposite...don't be tempted to put it in the oven...like most spirits, it's flammable. Laphroiag is quite strong tasted too.

I have had Laphroaig 10yr old and the quarter cask and enjoyed them both :TU: Didn't think i'd like the peaty/smoky whiskies after reading what they taste like, medicinal, TCP, etc but i do, and want to try Lagavulin next.
