Not really my thing but I reckon (m)BH would love it; she drools over Winnebagos. Good health to enjoy it, Hoovie! 😊

Thanks chaps Looks well finished Inside ..have you sold the VW van you converted ? Nope, But I will be once made a few little overhead cupboards and added a external showerpoint. In these Covid19 times, motorhome demand is going mad, but being self-contained is also sort-after, and my VW Camper has no internal shower. Wouldn't have been much of a factor before. Spot on regarding massive demand !! So massive I sold our caravan today for a healthy profit. Over 30 enquires within a few days first genuine buyer put down a deposit. The flip side of the staycation holidays as we found out last week is the rocketing pitch fees and places to visit rammed. Zero parking last week in our usual haunts it was simply chaos. Thing is with a caravan is wild camping isn’t easy like it is with a MH..... So we had to pay stupid money... Not sure if we will get another caravan or Motor home but it’s certainly not on the cards. As we love Cornwall we may look into buying an apartment and renting out when we’re not using it. Hopefully it won’t be so chaotic up north David 👍👍👍👍

I think as you say Wild Camping is a lot easier in a Motorhome.
I have not actually stayed at a "proper" campsite in fact! used one of the temporary ones once, and have tended to use "britstops", which is a book of mainly Pubs thay welcome motorhomes overnight in their carparks. There are also various phone apps doing something similar. Right now I am at a ground in a meeting of 30 Motorhomes (all suitably distanced and rules in place) as a trail run to check facilities are all working. Here two days. Next week down south (well, the Lakes) for an overnight in an actual campsite! Not sure what the charge is (customer is paying).

Thursday Night spent at High Laning Campsite at Dent, in the Yorkshire Dales. Nice view in the morning High Laning Campsite by David, on Flickr Given the time of year and all the schools are back (or at least it is not School Holidays or half term anyway), lots of campsites seem busier than I would have thought.

Brilliant area - but I'm biased, did you get to Hawes Creamery?

.......... with the Settle Carlisle railway halfway up the hillside if I'm not mistaken? Brilliant area - but I'm biased, did you get to Hawes Creamery? Could you see the Ribblehead viaduct? One of my favourite spots. At the head of Dentdale is the Dent Head Viaduct which is itself a fantastic structure. Heading south down the line you have the Blea Moor Tunnel which emerges not far north of the Ribblehead Viaduct. So, you couldn't see it from David's camp site but it's not too far away ( As the crow flies!!!! ). It's an area I love that I visit regularly as it's only about 40 miles from where I live.

Sad to say it was literally a drive to the campsite Thursday Afternoon, then a drive home from the Campsite Friday Afternoon and no sightseeing inbetween (went to the campsite to install some electrics on an Autosleeper that was also parked up there).

I remember them - airport, plane, airport, hotel, office, hotel, ... office, airport, plane, airport, & home without seeing anything at all in between! Retirement rocks ...

I remember them - airport, plane, airport, hotel, office, hotel, ... office, airport, plane, airport, & home without seeing anything at all in between! Retirement rocks ... That's about it I remember my once-only trip to Scandinavia .... Heathrow, plane to Gothenburg and straight to basic hotel; next morning taxi from Hotel to Volvo HQ; about 3 hours later ... Volvo to Airport; stopover in Denmark (aka 30 minutes at Copenhagen Airport slightly amazed at all the hard-core porn magazines for sale in the airport shops in carousels low enough for toddlers to view (no top-shelf in covered bags there!)), then back to Heathrow. (most memorable thing over the 24 hours was seeing the Danish attitude to pornography was exactly as their reputation goes! I have no recollection why I even went to Volvo!!)

I have a little 'build thread' on another motorhome forum and recently listed the changes I made. For people like me who like to mess around, a Motorhome gives a lot more scope than a car Changes Made include: * Alloy Wheels * Uprated Summer/Winter Tyres * VB Semi-Air Rear Suspension These three will let me uprate the Weight to 3850Kg * TPMS System that integrates to the Dash Radio (no need for separate display ) * Gaslow Refillable System fitted while keeping one Calor Bottle - covers both refilling LPG at suitably equipped Petrol Stations and Swappable bottles when no LPG stations available. * Upgraded Leisure Battery Bank (400Ah Lithium/Lead Hybrid Bank) * Victron BMV Battery Monitors x 3 (one for Lithium, one for Lead, one for overall Hybrid Monitoring) * Victron EasyPlus 12/1600 Inverter/Charger Upgraded Leisure Battery Charging Capability * 70A AC-DC (Mains) Charger * 60A DC-DC (B2B) Charger * Twin 20A Solar PV Controllers * 270W Roof-Mounted Solar PV Array + Pair of 100W Portable PV Kit * Programmable Starter Battery Maintainer (like a 'Battery Master' but better) * Slew of 12V and USB Charging Points (still got 2 specific ones to add in. Prob today for that). * 4G Router for full internet connectivity for Victron Venus OS system, security camera and In-Dash 'infotainment' system * Victron Cerbo GX Monitoring System - allows full remote monitoring and configuration of electrics via Internet, plus remote control of Fridge and Water Heater power. * 24" Avtex TV with Amazon Firestick and PC for SkyGo So Monty the Motorhome, as he is now named, is ready to hit the road.....
