My brother in law had to use it on his Jaguar and found it a pain. Apparently he had to top it up when instructed on the dash within so many miles or the car shut down. After problems with his third Jag he now has a Kia.

Filled up a Skoda Yeti with it at the weekend. On that car the filler is in the boot and you screw a bottle onto it and press down. When the bottle is empty you unscrew it, take the top off and put another 1.8L into it from a larger container. Screw the top back on tightly and repeat. When the tank is full no more liquid will come out of the bottle. There is a minimum amount you need to add otherwise the miles remaining doesn't reset initially. Some cars have an external filler and some garages have places where vehicles can use a pump although I believe these are more designed for HGV's.

Thanks for the replies,I think I’m ok (Phew). My son has just bought a VW that uses Adblue. Does the bottle come with the car or do you need to buy one.

I think she bought the bottle with adblue in it from a Skoda dealer. I am not sure if it is designed to be reused like I do. The plastic teeth seem to have lasted so far. One tip if you do refill is to turn the bottle upside down before it is in the boot area. You can check that no liquid is seeping out. The 10L containers come with a flexible spout so I guess they are more used with an external filler cap. It is a bit awkward to lift that container into the boot and pour it in without spilling any I expect.

You can buy it quite cheap off Amazon. BTW, the additive is entirely man made although it has a similar make up as animal pee.
