Reading through this old thread, I use a karcher k4 full control with the variable lance.
But it will not shift dirt from the bodywork. I hold the lance about 12 " from the car.
Loose stuff yes , but I still have to use a microfibre mitt to hand wash afterwards with Turtle wax and cold rain water.
If I was to use snow foam ,My neighbours would wonder what's happening 😃

Not about to try and keep the cars sparkling at this time of the year but have invested in a snowfoam kit to work with the jetwash to try and keep the grime off. The slk sits in the garage for winter, so at least that one stays clean

It was another sub zero start to the day in Worcestershire and I am sure must be even colder further north. Due to either cold weather, rain, illness with the flu, or just too busy, I have yet to wash our car since I bought it in early November! To be honest it doesn't look too bad, being silver probably helps, and I managed a quick vacuum inside yesterday! Maybe I will give it a wash this afternoon - but will wait and see. I know many of you avoid letting anyone else wash your car, and I understand why, but I wondered how often you were managing to wash your car? I see the occasional really clean car where I live but haven't actually seen anyone washing one! I don't wash ours very much, in the winter a car wash, in the summer, flipflops shorts cycle cape a cloth and a good rainstorm as we are a bit limited with the water at that time of year.

I think that RAVasher is out sunbathing, I'm waiting for a parcel before going for a bike ride.

Personally, I feel you have had to spend the time and effort properly machine polishing the vehicle a couple of times, before pressure washing (at a safe distance) will work to its full effect.
I've found only after that, will snow foam, leaving to "dwell", then pressure washing off, will remove nearly all the muck. I suspect Kev & Charlie will concur.
Possibly it's removed some of the microscopic lumps & bumps in the clear coat, that allows stuff to stick with a low level cementing type action. Maybe, who knows, but it seems to have worked for my vehicles.

The C-HR is in for its first service tomorrow and they will usually give it a good wash and vacuum. As far as sun bathing goes I’d frighten everyone away 🤣

Shamefully I’ve not cleaned any of our cars/vans for over a month...it’s just finding the time/weather on my side

Quite simply, they can't ... Farmers and contractors are legally obliged to clean up any deposits left on the road. There is also a legal requirement to place out signs compliant with the Traffic Signs Regulation 2016 to warn motorists of the conditions on the road. If they don't, they could be liable for a number of offences under the Highways Act 1980 and the Road Traffic Act 1988. ... but that doesn't mean that they always fully comply with said requirements ...

Around here, they NEVER comply. And from what I see travelling around the country, nor do they anywhere else. And it's pretty unlikely plod will ever take any action against them despite the fact that such crap on the road is a real threat to safety.

Around here they have the huge tracked tractors. The tracks are about 3' wide , and boy- do they leave a mess. And there's 5 farms around the village.

Maybe, who knows, but it seems to have worked for my vehicles. Absolutely bang on Andy. The smoother / Slicker the surface the easier it is to get best results from Foam and power washing. Muck and grime lays on the surface but when there’s nothing for it to grip too it comes away easily without the need to spray water from the power washer to hard. As above a wide fan at half power takes the muck off with no residue. For those who haven’t clayed or polished or both dont pre wet. I’ve never yet spoken to a fellow detailer that would advocate pre washing. Why spray foam over your car for most of it to hit the ground very quickly ?
