I'd love to , as I miss the feeling of support from Toyota. I did a brief visit to Colchester Toyota last month. The base spec 4wd new Rav4 started at £42k ! And months of waiting, so I guess I'll stick with my Mitsubishi.
No I didn't put a deposit down.

The punitive car tax plus VAT (tax on a tax, could only happen here!) are big factors. And the importers like to get a nice wedge as well that only adds to the pre-tax price.😡😡

I’m quite pleased I’ve looked after my old car cos there’s no way I would pay nigh on 50K for a RAV4…. Don’t get me wrong I would like a new car but the prices now are insane. I bought my car a few months old with from memory about 6K miles on it. Top spec Invincible with style pack and Navigation it even had screens on the headrests. It was 25K and I paid a bit less as I hung onto my T180. OK that’s 8+ years ago but even so. Mad thing is I’ve seen cars similar to my one with heavy miles and ……Well let’s say less than mint for 15+K….. Our government pleads poverty but the extra ( windfall tax ) tax they’re gaining just from car sales alone must be colossal. As I’ve said before I don’t really understand these electric and hybrid cars but if I did I wouldn’t be spending 59K on a Toyota no matter how good they are. As for taking out a bloody great loan for one well…… Old it maybe but I couldn’t give a monkeys honest

And I guess, taking everything into consideration especially the used car market, it ain’t costing you anything now. 😊

Pair of rear shocks again a precaution though I did have an advisory. They were not much over a 100 quid of Kingo. Apart from that and a set of tyres I’ve spent nothing on the car since I bought it. 👍👍👍👍

I reckon all the versions of RAV were excellent. Still think that the 4.2 was peak-RAV4. 😂 Having said that, I am seriously impressed with our 4.5.

A few more miles (116k -ish). I am not thinking if changing it unless Mr Kahn gets his ULEZ... Prices of new cars are mad!

All are excellent it’s just the numbers now. To be fair it’s not like I need another car now anyway. Usually when the country gets a hit like the crash of 2008/9 car prices fell through the floor. Now though they’ve gone crazy. All it means is fewer can afford nice late cars. I’m not pleading poverty here I could buy pretty much what I want and pay on the spot for it. I’m just not going too. 👍👍👍

Our Spanish 4.2 is now in semi retirement. Now on 280000 kms she deserves a little TLC and all those car park nicks and scratches are going to the spray shop when we get back. The 4.3 here in the UK is still going strong and with only 43000 miles on the clock and no faults, I have no inclination to change it. The new little Ignis is surprisingly good but we have had a paperwork nightmare trying to get the tow bar legalised, and then they fitted a 7 pin socket instead of a 13, so back to the drawing board and a possible bill for nearly 500€ to replace the socket!! Mental.

What are your thoughts on the Aygo X Bobby ? I'm pretty impressed so far. Absolutely nothing like all my previous Ravs. I did my research when thinking of downgrading in car size. Took me a while, but the Aygo X is spot on for what we do in our lives now. So no regrets....apart from giving up my lovely Rav, but it went to a good home. Just gobsmacked that no one from the forum snapped it up !!!
