That’s one easy pay packet he’s had this year ..let’s hope he saves it for his retirement ! . He really had his nose put out of joint with Leclerc joining the team, guess that happens to many of the big stars at some point in their career . Can’t see him going to the E series but he could move to the States and make a living there 👍🏻👍🏻

Let the rumor mill begin 😉 www.planetf1.com/features/sebastian-vettel-future/Can’t see vettel going to a team who can’t win races , also can’t see him having Hamilton’s seat. The way things are going several team’s may go bust this year with no money coming in .....time will tell .

But Mercedes would like a German driver. Maybe Hamilton to Ferrari? Anything's possible; it was only a few weeks ago that Ferrari's Team Principle and Vettel were salivating over one another!

Leclerc is their future, just like Red Bull have decided on Max (hence why Riccardo jumped), they are going to build a team around him, they just need a companion driver that will keep him honest, push him, but not try to take the glory unless it all falls apart or pick up the pieces depends which way you look at it. Just like Bottas to Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen to Vettel, Barrichello to Schumacher problem is finding one, the obvious choice should be Antonio Giovinazzi but Räikkönen rang rings round him last season.
I honestly can't see Hamilton going, the car is not good enough & he's too old to wait 2-3 years to get it to be a winner (if they can), although I'm sure he wants to drive for them.
The problem with all the other drivers is that they are still hungry, Russel, Ocon, Sainz, Riccardo all still think they have what it takes, can Ferrari handle 2 drivers going for the championship, they didn't do well last year.
Read somewhere a suggestion about Hulkenburg, which slightly left field makes a lot of sense, he is a good driver, he's never had the car to show his true potential, he's out of a drive so would be grateful to get a 2nd chance, is likely to be manipulative on the terms of the drive.

That is a good point they all want success still, so won’t make good teammates or like team orders .

So Sainz gets to drive for a prestigious team and will be on a great wage packet but have no chance of leading a race down to team orders 🤔🤔....guess it pays the mortgage 😉

I can see them both taking the challenge to Hamilton, sharing the points between them whilst he hovers up the rest, even if Ferrari get their act together & produce a better car, which I doubt.

When does it all re-start??
Just realised I do miss the motorsport, especially ITV4s sundays full of BTCC action and support races.
Sainz has done well to get that seat, but I don't think he'll trouble LeC tbh.

That’s the sad part of being a Ferrari number two driver...he’ll have to do as he’s told 🙄....mind you saying that, Leclerc was a number two driver not so long ago 👍🏻

I really hope he hasn't signed a No. 2 contract, I'd be surprised if CS Snr would have allowed it

I think that while both team mates still have a chance of a championship win any team should be forced to allow their drivers to go for it, but after a driver drops out of the championship running and only then, the team has an option to apply team orders if they wish.
