Hi folks.
I'm finding Android auto on the Mitsi.....
Interesting.
Bluetooth works fine for music through the on dash screen.
But, I've got 2 Usb ports too. I've plugged in a usb cable to my phone, but it keeps disconnecting.
Does anyone know if there is Bluetooth wireless plug thingy that I could plug into my Samsung galaxy s6. And the receiver other into the cars usb socket.
And I hate wires everywhere.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Not really sure what you want... Phone should have quite a good BT. Why is usb connection disconnecting? Physically disconnecting? Or connection is dropped? Why do you wand external BT if phone is connecting to the car?

... and to add to that - just in case you didn't realise - one of the USB sockets is an Aux Input to the multi-media system; any and all the others are there simply to provide power to accessories like a dash cam, sat nav, smart phone etc. etc. ...

So if I had a Bluetooth receiver in the Usb port. I could connect my android phone to android auto... via Bluetooth in a Usb port. Without wires ? Does that make more sense ?

Not really, as your car has already have BT, and so does your phone. What you say is you want to 'double ' that. Can't you connect the phone via normal BT to use Android auto? There was an attempt to replace wired with high bandwidth shirt range communication system called UWB(Ultra Wide Band) but i think it was dropped because copper wire is way cheaper than a wireless system.

OK, from Samsung: Follow the link for more help but you are going to be limited to a USB connection ...

Ok, that is a bit clearer... but i think as Philip said, it is a USB connection.
The issue is that in the BT connection there is a master and a slave (mostly). What you want is a 'transparent ' usb connection where the cable is replaced by the BT connection, and as BT require a master and a slave, i am not sure it is possible, or that something like this exist (as i mentioned before, UWB was suppose to do that). I am not familiar with android auto nor with Samsung phone so cannot advise on that. I would think that android auto need a higher data rate than BT is capable, so even if there was something like you want i am not sure it will be good enough.
Sorry.

Crikey don't apologise.
You're all more than helpful on here.
It's now working with Usb lead, according to Philips link it can work wirelessly.
I just need to follow procedure to the letter.
Only downside is.... me
I'm not great with reading and taking it in 😂 I've always figured it out for myself.
But.... needs must.
Thanks folks.👍

... It's now working with Usb lead, according to Philips link it can work wirelessly. I don't think that is true ... though I'd agree that is what it appears to say ... Android Auto is a mechanism that allows your car infotainment system to interact with and control your smart phone - displaying the smart phone's output on the car's display and relaying audio commands picked-up by the car to the 'phone (I think). To achieve this is requires a good quality USB data cable to connect between the smart phone and the car's infotainment system. (A crappy old charging cable won't do - it needs the data lines properly connected). The smart phone then works as a smart phone should, interacting with the outside world / inter-web thing using mobile data or wi-fi. The "can work wirelessly" refers to this aspect of use. Disclaimer: my old car doesn't support Android Auto and I've never had occasion to use it anywhere on anything - I'm just reading between the lines to deduce how it ought to work ...

Well I'm useing the lead it came with , but it's a 5 year old phone now. The samsung galaxy runs android 7.
The car accepts anything newer than android 5.
I can plug in the phone , usb etc and it's all good.
The moment anything is moved just slightly... it disconnects.
I'll try buying a decent short micro to std Usb lead.
