Well folks as I say if you feel it a dangerous repair to do then MODS by all means remove my post, but what I will say is that I thought the repair was soldered but when he came to fit the new part I did notice the wire and questioned it and he said it was a better fix than the solder as the solder could break, which it had, so he put the wire in and ran the Rav for about twenty minutes with all lights on etc and was checking it all as I sat in the Rav and he seemed ok with it, and would he really have put us in danger and risked his reputation as a mobile auto leccy, and as I say it was run for nearly two weeks without any issues.

I think it's been made clear it's only a temporary "get you home (and don't use it again)" fix. Many of us would take the risk for that.
Using it for any longer in my educated opinion is a gamble. Admitting to using it longer is possibly worse.
Did he measure (to the accuracy required for a high current feed) the resistance of the link?
Did he consider the fusing current of the wire?
Did he consider the ignition temperature of the insulation?
Did he consider all the temperature and vehicle environment considerations?
Did he do everything else that would have been done at the design and validation stage in 20 minutes?
Oh yes, it all looks fine and dandy, until you get another fault.
I suggest a line is drawn under it. It doesn't hurt to stay, as there are enough comments pointing out its limitations.

Andy, I haven't got a clue what he did, if I had I would have been able to solve the issue meself, but he was here about two hours in all, and found the issue after about ten minutes of been here, I was not with him when he was doing whatever he was doing and only went down the garage when he called me down to say what the problem was and at the end when he did the repair when I just sat in the Rav. So he might have done all those checks you mention he might not have?

The point I was making, he almost certainly wouldn't have done all that (they are akin to vehicle design time considerations) and therefore it's only a risky "get you home once" fix.
