Hi I have an old Transit camper and the internal lighting has old fittings that take standard car bulbs, to improve power consumption I have replaced these with LED bulbs, but becouse the lights dont have much of a reflector the light levels have dropped, becouse the old incandescent bulbs are visible from any direction but the led ones have leds facing towards the back if the fitting.
I want to keep the original fittings but thought about stripping out the old bulb holder and fitting an led panel like the one on ebay below.
But I was a bit worried that it might be a bit directional, the second idea is two smaller panels one above the other, the top one sloped slightly up and the lower one slightly down.
I wondered if anyone had played around with led panels and had any suggestions.
Lastly I am never quite sure of the relationship when comparing brightness between wattage of incandescent bulbs and led, does anyone have a good description of the comparison, i seem to have found several conflicting websites and now more confused than before, most seem to refer to lumins which is fine but i haven't found anywhere that tells me how many lumins a standard car indicator bulb is.
Thanks for that, looks like 15w might be a bit bright for what I want, maybe better going for 2 * 4w panels then I can angle them a bit to give a better spread of light, I could even switch them individually to give a extra control of the light levels. Dave
