At last......an Oil Thread

PostPosted by Big Kev » Wed Oct 11, 2017 3:20 pm

Funnerburd Wan was in today for its last annual service at a Toyota Franchise before it becomes five years auld tomorrow.....and the warranty of five years lapsifies.

I gave them Castrol Edge 0w30 oil, 6 litros, and an official Toyota oil filter. When I went back, the service manager of three conjunctive Franchises informed me that the Toyota Tech did not use my oil as it is THE WRONG FAR KING OIL......naw it isnae said I in my new Highland accent, and fair do's......he took the price of the oil OFF the bill and still returned my £50.00 wurff of Castrol. (Bought 8 litres at £62.00 in Eurocarfarts "SALE"......LOL.)

So he accepted what I said about it being mildly overspec at C3, but this is the bit that fex me up.......he was not able to inform me WHAT OIL GRADE had been used FFS.....!!!!!!

So it was a total of £126.00 for an intermediate service, which wouldah been £185.00 including their "secret" oil.........

Casey Jones and Brain min........forthwith you both holiday in the Highlands in October.......Kapeesh......? :shok:

Due to geographics now of helpful friends, David, I will decide tomorrow on its 5th birthday whether or not to extend said warranty.

Do ya know how much warranty work all four of the vehicles we have have needed in the last 3 years ? None..... How much have I spent on buying warranties ? Nowt.

Next to them silly paint applications warranties are the biggest profit makers for dealers. :s_thumbsup
