Handbrake

Driving the 4.2 today and it seems like that the handbrake I’m not coming off properly. I’ve pulled it on and off several times but it still seems the same.
Befre I take it into a garage any ideas what it could be. It did have new brakes and discs back in December when we bought it not sure if it’s anything to do with that but like I said it was in December and this only happened this morning .

Ash it could be the linkage in the brake drum sticking, one of the cables also semi seized or even the lever itself sticking.

Spot on Bob thank you for that took it into a garage took him about 20 minutes tonsort it. Put some anti seize stuff on it and readjusted everything working like it should now.
He said the shoes should have ideally been replaced and the garage should’ve put some of this anti seize stuff on.
This is the problem when you don’t know much about cars.
