The revised EGR fitted to facelift 4.3 and onwards

PostPosted by NickB75 » Sat Jul 15, 2017 4:06 pm

I'm wondering if it's worth cleaning my EGR,ive seen some excellent pictorial guides on cleaning the EGR on the 4.3,it looks easy to access and clean.
My car is 2010 facelift so my EGR will be the redesigned variant, has anyone taken one of these newer EGRs off to inspect and clean?
My car has done 62k,I have no symptoms of a clogged up EGR,but I like to keep on top of maintenance.

Later EGRs are far more efficient way more complicated and should really be left alone. The old type was restrictive and required cleaning. Just usenquality fuels or additives.
For when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name... He marks not that you won or lost.. But how you played the game..

Hopefully the later egrs were efficient in the way that they just stay closed 99% of the time and all that sooty crap doesn't come back for a second burn. ;)
