Dull knocking noise

PostPosted by RAVAsher » Sun Jul 02, 2017 1:25 pm

Recently noticed there's a dull knocking/rumbling noise coming from somewhere.cant figure out from where exactly.
not long after we bought it there was a loud knocking noise and that was the front drop link but this noise is not as loud so I'm assuming it's something else.
Any ideas of what I should be looking for or any possible causes? :s_drinks

Hi Dave

It seems intermittent when your driving along more noticeable when going over a bump.
I've sat in the back whilst the wife has been driving but just can't figure out where it's from.

Just look under the back and check those drop links. You should see a nut and stud sticking out of the bottom of each suspension arm.

Had a good look round it and with my neighbour and he thinks it maybe the front passenger shock absorber. It looks like it's leaking looks quite oily.
The rear drop links you mentioned Don look new a quick look through the papaerwork they were replaced last October so before we bought it.
If it is the shock would it be better to replace both front shocks. The driver side look fine

I think it's good practice to do suspension components in pairs.
