Air bag recall

PostPosted by nickcc » Tue Jun 13, 2017 8:47 am

Got the second letter a few weeks ago advising parts becoming available so phoned dealer. Bit obstructive to start with as car not known to them stating could be a long time before they could get the parts as this air bag fits many different manufacturers cars, I said I understood this and to let me know when available. Dealer phoned a couple of days later and said parts in, getting fitted this Thursday. Result.

well done :)

I knew my ""new" RAV4.2 was due an airbag before I bought it. Had it for 6 months, and then sold in it November 2015 and I got my letter a few weeks ago.
Nice to see TGB on the ball :s_blush (where's the Sarcastic smiley?)

Think the new owner of my car would have slipped throw the net, I did pass the recall letter onto the garage but no idea if they passed it on :(
Been a very long and drawn out recall I guess that's because of the number of cars involved .
Past Rav4's owned......
1996 import 3 door RAV4 J type.
2004 XT3 3 door.

That's cos you're not special like me, plus they probably realise I'm a crap driver and may need the air bag.

That's it then took total of 45 minutes including safety check and wash, impressed with local dealer which is what I imagine they intended even though the car will never go in there for repair or parts for that matter.
