Hello, newbie from North Lincs

PostPosted by Crispyclaret » Mon Apr 17, 2017 11:01 am

Hi all.
Just got my first Rav4, it is a 4.2.5 D4D 54 plate with genuine 79,000. Pretty good nick with no nasty rusty bits, about 40lb of earth and stones I had to pressure wash off the underside. My Focus had 181,000 so I hope to get a few years out of it.

Jobs done in my first 6 days of having her..
Towbar fitted
Lots of valeting
Free off the stuck front calipers, new needed but these can wait until after my hols
Put 400 miles on the clock to get used to her

Bits on order...
Alignment plate for rear door plus 2 rubber door stops
Double usb socket to fit a switch blank
Rear suspension trim panel cover

Jobs that will take a bit of tracing/time
Radio only fully works with side/headlights turned on. Otherwise it defaults to last station, can't retune, cd doesn't work but volume works, also at same time I can't cycle through the mpg bits. Weird it is fully functional with lights on.
Near side rear speaker dead
Egr will need a good clean

Anyway, that's me briefly
Dave

:welcome to the club David :s_howdy Good to have you aboard as we David's were getting a bit thin on the ground ;)
Have you checked the fuel filler pipe in the wheel arch? These are a known corrosion issue and, bearing in mind the amount of mud you have washed off, could have been in concealed damp conditions after rain.
