Yes I would expect that to be a very closely guarded secret, interestingly though both Merc & Ferrari drivers have used the same units as their teammate.

Shame the page doesn't go a bit further & show when they were taken. we could then see if Lewis & Vatteri both had new engines at Spa or whether Vatteri's was older hence why he didn't want to push towards the end, I still find his lack of ability to defend compared with Lewis strange.

think I will see if any sites or blogs track engines more.

Ref VBs defending, TBH, I think it is simply driver ability and experience.
Danny Ric. is great on the restarts, Alonso superb on the opening laps even with a Honda behind him, Max V is a hooligan, at least until his car breaks down, and Valteri does not succumb to pressure but doesn't have the ultimate racecraft. Lewis has had the advantage of being with the top teams from the start so had to add those skills to his 'toolbox', whereas Valteri rarely had the car to defend and chance to hone the skills (that's my theory anyway :) )

well done to Lewis a true rain master, also the two young guns with no fear in the rain Stroll and Ocon.

Well that didn't turn out like I expected, what happened to Ferrari? Despite the positive swing on it, that was embarrassing for them, over 30 seconds behind & that was just because all the Mercs wanted was a free pitstop in case of punctures, if there was no engine limit they would have lapped everybody.

Verstappen driving like a rookie again, he can't expect everybody to jump out of his way just because he's the new kid on the block, if he wants to go barging through then he needs to be driving F1 Stockcars, not real F1 cars.
Räikkönen don't understand him, he's getting like Button did, if everything goes his way he's brilliant, if not he throws his dummy out & then plods round.
Ocon, Stroll brilliant drives, although I do think they should have switched Stroll, Massa around just to put pressure on Ocon & possibly let Massa assist Stroll in getting past.
Palmer, should he really be there?

It was like Mercedes vs Ferrari in the 2016 season. Very odd :s_scratchhead
shaking my head at Bottas first couple of laps but he came good pretty soon :s_thumbsup
Stroll is doing well..Good for him as first races it seemed like he was only there due to daddys money, but actually a decent driver :s_howdy
Bottas not yet got a 2018 drive confirmed I think, and I have a feeling Ocan may take his seat next year. Showed his class in qualifying yesterday and in a top car he will outperform Raikkonen I am sure.

Not sure if Palmer is just unlucky or what, but sadly what luck he does have will be gone after November I think :N

I'd missed that thought I saw that he'd extended, maybe I read he was expected to extend, but that would drop everything into place, Alonso not going to Williams, Bottas goes back & Ocon goes to Mercedes, but would he be a willing No2 & would Hamilton let it happen? Shame he's French I really like him :D

I didn't think he had as of yet as I *think* I would have remembered (but could well be wrong).
I think Ocon would be ok taking a 'junior' role for at least a couple of years. Perez as a team mate may have been around longer, but has been dropped by a team and not set the world alight, although he is a decent driver. but being a number 2 to a multiple world champion and all-time record holder would not be seen as a negative I think (and somehow is not doing Kimi R that much problem!). Yup, Ocons biggest flaw is his nationality, but can't blame the man himself for that :D

Wherlin was supposedly Mercedes next big hope, but I can see him being passed over for Ocon very easily as well as for another new prospect whose name I have forgotten (DTM Teenager Champ?)
