Disappointed to read it's only a pre-recorded race ...... qualifying 1pm Sat and Race 2pm Sunday ....and news blackout if you don't want to see/hear the result before !

These far eastern races are not too bad if not live on FTA TV as they get shown at the "traditional" time. But you will have to totally avoid the BBC website for sure :Y
Not sure if I will watch live or not, but will be watching via Sky again this season as I really, really, cannot stick the C4 Presenter :N

I think Race #2 is also not being shown live on FTA either? :(

Watched a recording of Practice 2 this afternoon. This years cars do look mean with the wider stance and lower rear spoilers :s_cool

Found it a bit funny how the highly experienced Lol Stoll moaning about ex-WDC Kimi R being too slow in practice 2 :D don't think he understands what Practice sessions are about

Bit of gossip about McLaren ..they have been in talks with Mercedes about an engine deal ! Not sure if that means next year or mid season ?

Joe Saward puts this rumour into perspective .... i.e. If McLaren walk away from Honda, they will also walk away from £100,000,000 a year! (Value of free engines, plus sponsorship cash plus Alonsos salary). Can't see that happening ;)

See they have new graphics for qualifying giving much more regarding a drivers progress, splitting the lap into about 21 sections, compared to the usual 3 sectors :)

Now I am a bit of a stats/info nut so thought "great!" :D but ... it isn't - or at least not today  Vettel was last man on track and battling for Pole, and with a fair chance of doing it. Commentators were getting all excited ... Will he? Won't he? But problem is the graphics showed the provisional pole-sitter had lots of purple (fastest driver) sections on his run. And on Vettles run ,he had no purples, so he had zero chance of nicking pole. Great info for all the Team Statisticians, but actually spoilt it somewhat for the viewer :N

Anyways, an interesting Quali session and looking forward to the race tomorrow :driving

I enjoyed that today ...looking forward to the race , I'm thinking its very close and down to clutch control between Hamilton and Vettel off the line .
