On the subjects of discs the rear ones on the 4.2 look like they can do with replacing on the next pad change. I had a look onECP and there seems to be two different types when I put the reg in. One is a different size from the other. Anyway I can find out exactly which ones I need?
The part numbers are 104820339 and 104820319
The 4.2 is a 2005 model.

Ash blueprint-ADL only list one disc for the rear of your RAV4.....part number ADT343144....lots of EBay and some good prices just make sure you order a pair.
Looking on the ECP site the top disc on the listing 104820319 is the same dimensions as the blueprint item :s_thumbsup

Well the weather was good so set about and got the job done, it did take about three hours though , replaced the discs, pads, slider pins and stainless clips and used the recommended 'Ceratec ' grease..
Did have to have a break to watch 'Anchomans' ace video as I wasn't sure where the small stainless clips had to be fitted as there were none on the pads I removed...

Cheers Don , I appreciate that.... :s_thumbsup

I did read your write up on 'the other forum' and watched your tutorial video a couple of times before I started.
I take it the 4.2 doesn't have shims on the back of the pads as there were none on mine ? And the new 'Pagid ' pads had some sort of material bonded into the back of the pads.....
Given a little more time I would have liked to re paint the calipers and clean up and paint the stone guards, but this will have to wait for the time being. Next job will be the rears in the summer.. :)

Thanks Ash..the trouble I have these days is motivation to get and do the jobs that need doing, whereas this had to be done as the car was unsafe to use.. :)
