Hi I'm New, and I have a couple of questions

PostPosted by Kesmi » Fri Jan 08, 2016 10:21 pm

Just bought my second Rav, I love them, my hubby now has my mark 1 3dr GX, I now have a 5dr XT5 automatic 05, and I am a very happy bunny!
One or two minor defects that I would like to rectify, maybe someone can help me out,,or point me in the right direction.
I need to get a new map disc, as there isn't one, and a 'code' ?
I also need a new visor on the drivers side as the spring mechanism is broken and it has Velcro holding it up. So where is the best place to get one without getting ripped off.

I live on the Isle of Wight, and we have one main dealer, who is nice and pricey, good but pricey!

I look forward to your suggestions..... Oh and Happy New Year :xmas_cheer

Hello Kesmi and welcome to the club :s_thumbsup the sunvisor question was covered the other day on here and the general consensus is new is the way to go , any used one at a breakers will be as old as the one you have and other than your current quick fix no other real solution has been found to make it work like new again .
The price new is around £170 which hurts a bit :s_sad so its down to if you can live with the current fix or have a spend up with Toyota .
I'm sure someone will be along soon with the map disc answer soon :s_yes

welcome

If someone wants to send me one of their dodgy sunvisors I would love to take a look at it and see if we can work out a proper fix without spending stupid amounts on such a basic thing :s_thumbsup

Thank you for the welcome
I am shocked by the cost of a sun visor I must confess, now that's a dilemma , do a put a sun visor on my birthday list, or buy a stronger roll of Velcro ?
Next on my list is the map disc and code, so that I can use the stereo and sat nav any ideas on that?

Really appreciate the response, thanks guys!

Ps Hoovie, I might just take you up on that!!

Kesmi :s_thumbsup

I've had some success in the past by wrapping a visor in cloth and gently squeezing it in the vice (with the spindle removed).
