Keith......I drove wife's 3 door Rav from That Manchester to Glesga on its original Pirelli Scorpions with 30k on them. The amount of tread left on them was incredible. The word "Verde" was not in their name.....this was seven years ago, so names change I suppose.
Even to the FEEL these were the hardest compound rubbers I have ever groped, and the noise they made on that long journey was utterly horrendful.
After one cold wet Glesga winter, I binned them, christening them Torville and Dean plus two weans.
May be different now.....just a heads upment...... :s_thumbsup

I had Pirelli Verde on my T180 before swapping to the Vredestien winters and they were very noisy on the motorway and wore severely way faster than the Vredestien winters.....

Thank you both for your replies.

I have been reading some reviews mainly from LR Evoque drivers who say they get lots of miles out of them (fitted as standard)
So hard compound + XL walls = uncorfortable ride. I'll give them a miss.

My daughters Evoque has them on.... Too be honest they seem ok on that car .

Originally stuck to Yokohama Geolandar G91 as they came with car from new. They didn't last long enough (20k) and I wanted something more grippy in mud/snow. So I went for GO-12 last time (back in 2013) and they have lasted 42k miles in their four years service- much better!
GO-12 are now superseded GO-15 so that's what I have got now. They look similar (nice and mean) and are no noisier.

NB Passed MOT first time of course.

Out of curiosity do they have the outline white lettering ?
As..... I'm quite tempted myself.

No, just New Zealanders (all blacks)

Daves are everywhere. Some say you're never more than 10 feet from a Dave.

My car has the original Duelers on, it's done 34K and is now 4.5 years. Lots of tread on the rears (4 -5 mm) but superficial cracking in the treads. The fronts have 3.5 to 4 mm left but also the cracking so I am looking to change the fronts now.

I had Yoko Geolander SUV's on my previous RAV and had no problems so I think same again on this one.

My new (to me) Rav is really good and gives a great ride which I don't want to spoil but the duelers are way over the top on price.

It's no secret that I'm a fan of General grabber tyres, I have grabber GT's on my rav. I was having a nose around their website the other day and found that they now do grabber AT3 all terrain tyres in 235/55-18 which will fit the 4.4. I'm sure most people here would not entertain having all terrain tyres due to their noise and effect on mpg, but when I was looking for tyres, I couldn't find a single AT tyre in this size. If you want a tough tyre, at least now there is an option..

Not sure if I said already or not, but those General Grabbers I got off you about 18 months ago did another 10,000 miles, didn't look like any more tread worn away and I sold them a couple of months ago for what I paid for them.
Super tyres :s_thumbsup

If I remember rightly, they'd done about 50,000 miles on my 4.2 before that and never had a single puncture. Many moons back I had grabber AT2's on my Cherokee and they were equally good. I think tyre choice for cars is akin to choosing footwear for your feet, sometimes you want trainers, sometimes you want a pair on clarks brogues.. the grabbers are like a pair of rigger boots, not classy, but mighty tough!
