I am not sure if this is the best place to post this but here it is anyway. 
Automakers are reportedly spying on car owners by recording their every move, according to an experiment
by a professional hacker and the Washington Post.
Tech columnist Geoffrey A. Fowler recently asked Jim Mason to hack into a car’s computer. Fowler has a Ph.D.
in engineering and reconstructs car accidents via hacking,

Our new Peugeot Rifter van has a button on the satnav you can press for Peugeot assistances so guess they can see you location, so maybe they see how you are treating the car as well.... ie speed, revs etc 🤔

Nothing new really, the boss & his wife used to have a pair of Cadillac Escalades in Florida, I've known her to call up the premium support line & get them to honk the horn & flash the lights when she wasn't able to find the car in the car park. She could also ring up whilst driving & they would direct her to the nearest petrol station or whatever shop she wanted, they knew exactly where the car was at all times & if it had been opened by each of the 3 specific keys who logically was driving.
Anyone who has a Hive heating system should be concerned at what data is being collected about you, everything you do in connection with your boiler goes through them before going to your boiler.

It doesn't surprise me in the least, i remember watching a topgear program with a friend back in the late nineties, they were showing off the mclaren F1 sports car, and all its diagnostics, i jokingly said to my friend, i bet it rings the factory if it has a problem, at that they then got to the bit about the on board cellphone for diagnostics.
so if mclaren did it 20 years ago i am surprised it has taken this long to get into normal cars.
