Car has been to a service, and one of the complaint I had was noise from what I thought was rear bearing(s).
Garage (MrT) did not find anything wrong with the bearings, but said that the rear tyres are worn unevenly, which causes the noise. They said it is only on the rear tyres, and if swapped it will move with tyres. Sceptic me, went and crossed the tyres today, hoping to prove them wrong...they were actually correct! noise moved to the front!
Tyres are vredestein quatrac 5, which suppose to be good tyres!
Now that they are crossed, there is no vibration in the steering, all seem OK but noise coming from the front.
How does that happens?
Should I check alignment? I do check the tyre pressure quite regularly, even pumping it up (and down) a bit as instructed in the manual when towing so do not think it is that
Any suggestions?
